I’m Wedding Minister & Storyteller, Elizabeth River

I love nothing more than helping couples create ceremonies that celebrate their core, deepening love.

I’ve lived in Marin County for, since 1978 and I love this beautiful place– especially the coastal regions of rural communities. Surrounded by hills and trees, open spaces, big sky, and the Pacific Ocean, this is sacred land. It’s a wonderful place to celebrate your wedding!

I was ordained an Interfaith Minister from the The Chaplaincy Institute, an Interfaith Seminary and Community in Berkeley, California in 2004. And since then, I’ve been privileged to officiate over 170 weddings.

But if you had told me years ago that I’d be creating and performing meaningful, original wedding ceremonies, I never would’ve believed it.

On the day of the wedding, Elizabeth presented a beautiful ceremony, that evoked laughter and tears of joy. We could not have asked for anything better! Elizabeth was so personable and just a delight to have as our wedding officiant!

From Real Estate To House Blessings

Before I decided to explore my deepening faith at Seminary, I worked in real estate. At the time, I felt it was a smart decision. Selling homes is a lucrative career and I did well.

I cared deeply for my clients and worked hard to help them find the perfect home. It was important for me to understand my clients on a deep level. And people felt comfortable opening up about their dreams, wishes and visions for the future. It was an interesting time and I met some lovely people.

Eventually, I did some soul-searching. The real estate business wasn’t fulfilling me. I felt like I was meant for a deeper purpose.

When I finally found the Interfaith Seminary, I knew it was the right road. I felt aligned with the Interfaith path– I resonated with embracing the wisdom of all faith traditions and spiritual perspectives.

And when I graduated in 2004, I was excited to serve my community in a new way.

The Blessing That Started It All

While studying, I continued my work as a real estate agent. After getting to know one client, I helped him close a deal on his first house. He was so excited.

Knowing that I was studying to be an Interfaith Minister, I offered to perform a house blessing.

A house blessing is a beautiful ritual. Found in religious and spiritual beliefs around the world, it creates a fresh start for the resident. It’s also believed to offer protection, cleanse energy and honor ancestors.

That was my first step on the road to meaningful custom ceremonies.

Opening To My Divine Purpose

After that first house blessing, I performed many more. Eventually, I began creating unique ceremonies for weddings, vow renewals and commitments.

And I love them. Every single one.

It’s my joy to celebrate and bless your holy union. It’s my purpose and passion. It’s my God-given talent and gift.

There is a sacredness in the covenant of marriage and committed partnership. There’s also a tremendous, miraculous power in your eternal vows. In those special moments, I feel it. I am connected to the Divine. And there is nothing more beautiful than sharing that mystery with you.

Before our wedding, I never really understood just how beautiful a wedding ceremony can be. Elizabeth told our story in a way that explained our love for each other truly and romantically. Also, I’ll never forget how much more in love we felt after answering her questions over the phone about our love story. She has a gift.
